北京冬奥会是今年的重头戏，大家都在关注。开幕式上，各类节目精彩纷呈，将博大精深的文化与先进的科技完美地结合在一起，向世界展示了中国的诚意。在世界各地，每场比赛都牢牢抓住了人们的眼球。然而，你知道吗？中国通过北京2022冬奥会，汇聚了两位多年不说话的好兄弟。

马特奥是一位居住在西班牙的年轻记者，在为一家重要的西班牙报社工作时游历了许多国家。在他访问过的所有国家中，他最喜欢的是中国。他一直对中国文化很感兴趣，尤其是中国武术和书法，而且还和他的兄弟观看了很多中国电影。他们互相帮助、互相鼓励，成为了很好的兄弟。他们甚至一起练太极拳。然而再亲密的关系也抵不过遥远的距离，当马特奥的兄弟胡安决定移居美国时，他们之间的紧密联系逐渐破裂。在往后的岁月中，这两兄弟很少发短信，从不打电话。五年多以来，他们仿佛无视彼此的存在。然而冬奥会的开幕，重新拉近了两人的距离。彼时，两人都在观看开幕式。他们很高兴奥运会的开始，因为他们都对运动感兴趣，尤其是冬季运动。

Beijing Winter Olympics are a major event of this year and everyone is keeping an eye on it. Not only that the opening ceremony was breathtaking and China has managed to show once again its rich culture in a perfect mixture with technology, but also in every part of the world all eyes are on every competition, inviting all people to encourage their countries from their homes. However, did you know that China, through Beijing 2022, brought together two good brothers who have not spoken in years?

Mateo is a young journalist who lives in Spain and traveled in many countries as he works for an important Spanish newspaper. Among all the countries that he visited his favorite is China. He has always been interested in Chinese culture, especially Chinese martial arts and calligraphy. Moreover, together with his brother, they watched so many Chinese movies. They were very good brothers, always helping and encouraging each other. They even practiced together Tai Chi. Nonetheless, when Mateo’s brother, Juan, decided to move to United States of America, their strong connection gradually broke. Therefore, these two brothers seldom send any text message and never call each other. For over five years they simply ignore each other’s existences. Until one day, when the Olympics started, both of them were watching the opening ceremony. They were happy that the Olympics started, as they are both interested in sports, especially in winter sports. Mateo likes snowboarding, while Juan sometimes goes skiing. Queralt Castellet, a Spanish snowboarder is the first woman to get the silver on the Winter Olympics. When they saw this, both of them were amazed by her skills and proud of their country. Actually, they were so happy that they decided to call each other. But Juan realized that he did not have Mateo’s number anymore. He got worried, as he wanted to call his brother for the first time in such a long time, but could not find his phone number anywhere. On the other side of the world, Mateo was also preparing to call him, but he was anxious because he did not know how Juan was going to react. Little did he know that Juan was searching desperately for his number, to share his excitement. After a few hours in which Juan was hopelessly searching for his brother’s phone number and Mateo was anxiously waiting for Juan to call first, something must have happened to make the 2 brothers reunite again. Eventually, Juan told his friends that he wanted to talk to his brother but could not find his phone number anywhere, and one of them remembered that he still has Juan’s brother’s contact in his phone. Thrilled, Juan went home and called his brother, but, at the same time, unexpectedly, Mateo managed to overcome his fear and called Juan just when Mateo was calling, but Juan was the one that called first. As they talked and relighted their feelings of love for each other, the two brothers realized that a history-making event was the only thing needed to bring them back together.

The Beijing Winter Olympics brought together two brothers who had been separated for many years. In the future, they will continue to be friends. This is the meaning of the Olympic spirit and a true miracle. The Beijing Winter Olympics have managed, through sports, to unite everyone and bring the brothers together. This is just the story we know, but how many other people around the world were brought together by their interest and love for this special event? We expect that our world can be closely united to create a better future and advance together for a shared future.
